Facilities

We opened the original Home in 1987 with this philosophy in mind. We are now the longest established Nursing Home in the Cambuslang area. The new building is set in three acres of mature grounds, surrounded by open farmland, the house and gardens give a panoramic view over Lanarkshire and Glasgow.

We provide 24 hour long-term and respite Nursing Care in single and twin-room accommodation for seventy residents, within four separate wings. In the future, a further wing will be added to the top floor, raising the capacity.  We offer a high degree of independence and privacy in the friendly and homely atmosphere promoted within the Home by our Manager and staff. All rooms have underfloor central heating and are equipped with full en-suite facilities, telephone, internet and television points and nurse-call systems in the event of residents requiring assistance. Two passenger lifts are provided for those residents who may require assistance in using the main staircase within the home and this will be supervised by staff where appropriate.

A choice of menus is offered for mealtimes using fresh produce and our chefs will be pleased to provide an individual menu for specialised diets.

Services

The Home has the services of a visiting local Doctor who holds regular surgeries on the premises to ensure the finest quality of healthcare. Also available are Dentist, Optician, Chiropodist and an onsite salon with resident Hairdresser.

All residents laundry requires to be name-tagged and is washed on the premises using approved commercial equipment. Dry-cleaning can also be arranged. A public telephone is provided for residents & visitors use, however individual lines and broadband may be installed if required for a charge.

Activities

We have our own activities staff within the home to assist in occupational therapy. This can involve activities within the Home or trips and outings ranging from ‘pub lunches’ to visits to museums, theatres and other places of interest.

We enjoy a high degree of involvement from the local community which is of benefit to the residents

Visiting

Family and friends are encouraged to visit at any time of the day or evening (until 9:00pm) which is suitable to them and the residents, although it would be appreciated if mealtimes could be avoided. Coffee and tea are available to visitors and residents at no charge, either in one of the visiting areas or in the resident’s room. A selection of home baking and sanwiches is usually available from our spacious cafe.

Families are welcome to participate in any events which are organised for the residents and are also encouraged to arrange individual outings for their relatives, following prior consultation with the Manager.
